News Stories About Fur

Night Three Weeks Long

2007-05-19

It was not a good week for new releases on the DVD rental chart. None were able to take a spot in the top three, and this left Night at the Museum in first place with $7.38 million for the week and $28.01 million during its run.

DVD Releases for May 8, 2007

2007-05-08

It is not a particularly strong week for DVD releases, and I think Spider-Man 3 had a lot to do with that as it is dominating the news so much that it scared studios enough to keep them from putting out their A-list releases. There were a few TV on DVD releases that caught my eye, like The 4400 - The Complete Third Season, as well as a few Special Editions, like Big - Extended Edition. But in the end I'm going with a double-shot of Canadian releases, Things to Do and Trailer Park Boys - Season 6, because I'm such a hoser. (Important note, you must import the latter title from Canada, but it's worth it.)

Holdovers Hold On Strong On Per Theater Chart

2006-11-14

Volver fell a tiny 14.41% during its second weekend of release while it easily won the per theater race with an average of $33,842 in five theatres. The only other movie to top $10,000 was the overall box office leader, Borat, with an average of $11,017 in its 2,566 theaters, which is simply amazing.

Limited Releases - F is for Flop

2006-11-10

There is an uneven mix of movies coming out in limited release this week. There are a few that have box office potential for this weekend, Copying Beethoven, F*CK and Fur, but none seem destined to have long term success in the cards.

2006-10-14

With more and more Oscar contenders getting ready to start their theatrical runs, it is fitting that a satire of such films, For Your Consideration - Official Site, takes home the Weekly Website Award.

Movie Website Updates for September 2 - September 8

2006-09-08

After a very busy month, the number of site on this week's list dropped off dramatically. The decline in quantity was accompanied by a decline in quality with no site jumping out as the obvious choice for the Weekly Website Award. The Guardian - Official Site came the closest, but it will have to wait till more features are added for that honor.

Movie Website Updates for August 19 - August 25

2006-08-26

It's another busy week with nearly three dozen films being represented here. Taking top prize is Invincible - Official Site, although there were a few others that could take that claim before all is said and done.
