While Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was pushed back to next summer and this left a gab in the IMAX schedule, it hasn't been entirely quiet lately. This week it was reported that Dolphins and Whales Tribes of the Ocean 3D reached $10 million worldwide, which is a great milestone for the film. The film continues to tour the United States, while it will make its debut in France, Mexico, and other markets in the coming months.

It's been a while since there was something noteworthy at the IMAX box office, but Dolphins and Whales: Tribes of the Ocean 3D has broken records in Germany during its run. Since it opened there on March 13th the film has been seen by 47,000 moviegoers pulling in $607,000 on just 17 screens. This is almost as much business as the film has done here, but it has done it in only a few weeks as opposed to a month and a half. The record-breaking run is impressive, but not totally unexpected. After all, Earth has done nearly $30 million in business in Germany, so there's obviously a demand for this type of film in the market.
