DVD Rentals - Last Starts in First Place

There were only half as many new releases to reach the top 30 on the rental chart this week as there were on the sales chart, but we still had a new number one. The Last House on the Left opened in first place with nearly 50% more rentals that I Love You, Man.

DVD Releases for August 18th, 2009 - Part II

It's that time of year again. It's getting closer to the start of the new TV season, which means there is a flood of TV on DVD releases this week. And next week. And all next month. While there are several TV on DVD releases that are worth picking up, like Dexter - Season Three, there are no releases this week that combines an excellent show plus excellent extras, and therefore there are none that rise to the level of DVD Pick of the Week. However, while there are not a lot of top tier releases, there are plenty of total releases and this week's list had to be split into two. The first part can be found here.

Per Theater Chart was Schooled

Nursery University topped the Per Theater Chart, barely, with $11,307. Second place went to Obsessed, with $11,260, which is about 8 people per theaters behind the leader.

Movie Website Reviews for the Weekend of April 24th, 2009

Not a bad week for movie sites, and there are no movies on this week's list that have no presence on the internet, although a couple don't have full sites. On the other hand, the best of the best, Obsessed's Official Site, is only good, but not great, and not worthy of the Weekly Website Award.

Not the Only Limited Release

An interesting week for limited releases with several films earning amazing reviews, as well as a couple earning terrible reviews. There's even a Canadian movie on the list. Not sure if any will be big hits theatrically, but several are worth checking out.
