The Polar Express: The IMAX Experience, which was already the highest grossing DMR film, crossed $60 million worldwide during its second season of release. The film earned $15 million during its second season despite going up against its DVD release. If the film can earn anything close to that next year, it could become a seasonal event like Santa vs. the Snowmen and if that happens, it could challenge some of the All-Time Champs.

Both The Polar Express: IMAX Experience and Santa vs. the Snowmen hit milestones this past weekend.
The former film topped $10 million during its re-release, and the latter hit $1 million during the same period.
Both films earned more than enough to ensure they will be playing in many IMAX theatres next year, which is good news for both the studios and the theatre owners alike.

The Polar Express: The IMAX Experience as seen continued growth recently, popping above the $1 million mark this past weekend and lifting its total past $50 million on IMAX screens, including $5 million from this year's run.
Granted, it's not as strong as last year's run, but it's comfortably enough to make the film a yearly tradition.

As reported yesterday, The Polar Express: IMAX Experience saw a triumphant return to IMAX screens across the nation.
Today we learn that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire also scored, earning $1.85 million on 66 IMAX screens, for a running total of $6.9 million in that format.
Those two results, and the numerous other long-running films, helped IMAX have their best week and weekend ever.

The Polar Express: IMAX Experience returned to theatres over the past holiday weekend earning $1.22 million on 66 screens from Friday to Sunday and $1.41 million since Wednesday. That should be more than enough to convince the studio to try and make the film a yearly tradition and help boost the film's record IMAX haul beyond the $46 million it has already earned.

As Christmas approaches, each week more and more DVDs are being released that theoretically would make perfect gifts.
But for the DVD Pick of the Week I went with the perfect Re-Gift, Seinfeld - Re-Gift Set.
There are a couple others I would recommend (like the King Kong - Collector's Edition), but overall it feels like a really slow week.

Not only did Charlie and the Chocolate Factory easily take top spot on the overall charts this week, it also set records on IMAX screens nationwide.
