DVD Rentals - Watching Watchmen and Coraline and the Rest of the New Releases

2009-08-05

New releases were not as plentiful on the rental chart as they were on the sales chart, mainly due to the fact that TV on DVD dominated the lower half of sales. The top two films were the same with Watchmen opening in first place with roughly 50% more rentals than Coraline had.

DVD Releases for July 21st, 2009

2009-07-20

Two of the most anticipated home market releases of the summer come out this week, and both of them are contenders for DVD Pick of the Week. The Watchmen and Coraline Blu-ray releases are both worth picking up, and must-haves for their fans. Sunshine Cleaning expanded from 4 theaters to 64, but still finished in the $10,000 club with an average of $10,494.

Limited Releases: Super or Merely Great?

2009-03-20

There are a few limited releases with potential this week; none are likely to match last week's Sunshine Cleaning, but they have potential nonetheless. If I were to pick just one film, it would be Sin Nombre; however, one can not discount The Great Buck Howard at the box office.
