News Stories About White Noise 2: The Light

DVD Rentals - Yuma on Track

2008-01-21

Just as it did on the sales chart, 3:10 to Yuma was the best on the rental charts. It was part of a group of six new releases to chart, and pulled in $10.76 million during its first week of release.

DVD Releases for January 15, 2008

2008-01-14

The early year doldrums continue on the home market front. Even though there are plenty of releases, including eight spotlight reviews, there are none that really jump out as Contenders for DVD Pick of the Week. Family Guy - Blue Harvest Special Edition could be called the best of a weak bunch, but odds are everything the disc will be included in a future release that will be a lot more competitively priced. (On the other hand, if you want the cool physical extras, grab the Limited Edition release.)

Contest - Good Luck

2008-01-11

The film with the loudest buzz of the month is opening next week and that film, Cloverfield, is this week's target film. It's going to be a hard contest to win as this film could open with $5 million or $50 million, I really have no clue on this one. Whoever comes the closest to predicting the film's opening 3-day weekend box office (Friday to Sunday), without going over, will win a copy of White Noise 2 on DVD and a poster from In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale signed by Dr. Uwe Boll. Meanwhile, whoever comes the closest to predicting the film's opening 3-day weekend box office (Friday to Sunday), without going under, will also win a copy of White Noise 2 on DVD and a poster from In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale signed by Dr. Uwe Boll. Entries must be received by 10 a.m., Pacific Time on Friday to be eligible, so don't delay!

DVD Releases for January 8, 2008

2008-01-08

We are back to a relatively normal level of DVD releases this week, including a few that are worth considering for DVD Pick of the Week. Both 3:10 to Yuma on Blu-Ray and The Riches - Season 1 on DVD are prime contenders. If you don't have Blu-Ray, it's the latter, while if you do, it's the former.

International Details - Slim Pickings

2007-01-15

Apocalypto was the best of the rest this weekend pulling in $8.3 million over the weekend for a running tally of $20 million on the international scene. Its biggest single market was the U.K. where the film opened in third place with $2.62 million on 385 screens, (including very limited previews), which was a record for a foreign language film. It did even better in Italy with $3.17 million on 316 screens placing second. Given the film's R-rating, it should outperform its domestic total giving it a target box office of over $100 million worldwide.
