Four of last week's five films in the $10,000 club managed to repeat that feat this week with In Good Company continuing its reign on the charts. The film, which opens wide this week, dropped a mere 5% at the box office earning an average of $48,050 in three theatres. Well back at $17,619 was Million Dollar Baby, which did an amazing job holding onto its per theatre average despite increasing its theatre count from just 9 to 109. On the other hand, The Merchant of Venice dropped almost 30% to $12,237 even though its theatre count was unchanged. Another film holding up well despite massive gains in its theatre count was Hotel Rwanda with $11,155 on average in 105 theatres. Rounding out the $10,000 club was the only new wide release this weekend, White Noise with $10,665.

This past week also saw some milestones reached for several Per Theatre Charts alumnus:

• With Hotel Rwanda having a million dollar weekend, there’s little shock that it hit its first milestone of its theatrical run.
• Bad Education crossed $2 million over the weekend and is not done by a long shot.
• On last Monday Beyond the Sea reached $2 million and had another $1 million dollar weekend topping $3 million.
• Million Dollar baby hit two milestones over the weekend making $2 million by Saturday and $3 million by Sunday.
• A Very Long Engagement hit $3 million late on Thursday and should make $4 million by next weekend.
• House of Flying Daggers just made it to $5 million over the weekend.
• The producers of Birth gave it a massive push over the weekend in order to take advantage of Nicole Kidman’s Golden Globe nomination. And while that didn’t work, (the film could only manage a per theatre average of $535) that was enough for it to make it to $5 million.
• Sideways reached a rear milestone over the weekend making it all the way to $25 million and is now in seventh place on the top ten films to never make it into the top ten overtaking Waking Ned Divine.
• Amazingly, Finding Neverland also made it to $25 million, but it did it over the mid-week and should also make it to $30 million by the end of this weekend..
