During the past week promotional websites for several movies were launched and some older ones added additional content. Here the list of this week's releases, a couple of new sites and a few updates, including this week's winner, The Wedding Date - Official Site.
If you know of any new movie websites not on this list feel free to e-mail me with the details.
3-Iron
Current Content: Just an image gallery so far and a press kit in .pdf format.
Aliens of the Deep
Current Content: There appears to be no changes since last week.
Alone in the Dark
Current Content: There appears to be no changes since last week.
The Chumscrubber
Current Content: Just the name / logo.
Corpse Bride
Current Content: Just the international trailer so far, but it certainly looks interesting.
The Devil's Rejects
Current Content: I just got rejected by the The Devil's Rejects's site. Apparently since I'm not an American citizen, they can't verify I'm older than 18 so I'm not allowed on the site. Strange.
Downfall
Current Content: The site has all the usual features, however, the trailer is marked coming soon.
Emile
Current Content: Good site with most of the usual features, synopsis, cast and crew bios, extensive production notes and trailer. And while there is no image gallery per se, there are several images scattered around the site in different sections. The site also has enough animation to keep the surfers' attention and strong background music.
Hide and Seek
Current Content: No changes since last week so the site remains just the interactive intro and the trailer.
Inside Deep Throat
Current Content: Photo gallery was added to the site.
Laura's Star
Current Content: I think there's either something wrong with this site, or it's not designed to work with Mozilla. Either way nothing happened when I clicked on the logo. However, a quick check of the page source and I found the proper URL. Here you'll find the trailer, synopsis, (revealed in a rather interactive way), character bios and plenty of games. Overall a good site for kids.
Layer Cake
Current Content: The site for the American release is up, but there's just the image gallery and the press kit so far.
Millions
Current Content: At first this site didn't want to load, but it appears to be working now. Simple site with just the usual features, synopsis, cast and crew bios, image gallery and trailer, plus a little bit of animation and sound.
MirrorMask
Current Content: The flash site launched this week but there's just the synopsis and the image gallery. However, the site does have quite a bit of potential.
National Lampoon's Black Ball
Current Content: It's been a while since I was looking forward to a National Lampoon's film, and this website isn't making the wait any shorter. There's just the synopsis, cast and crew list, (no bios), small image gallery and a link to the trailer.
Ong-Bak
Current Content: This site has the usual features and a few extras, most notably a video of a half-time Martial Arts demonstration. Also worth noting is the Wu-Tang intros to the trailers and other promos, which definitely makes them stand out.
Tideland
Current Content: Three behind the scenes video clips were added to the site.
The Wedding Date
Current Content: The flash site launched a week in advanced of its theatrical release. The site has plenty of content with all the usual features, synopsis, cast and crew bios, production notes, image gallery, trailer and two TV clips, as well as movie clips marked coming soon. There is also a game called Wedding Etiquette in which you are given three wedding traditions and have to choose the one that's fake. Lastly, there's enough animation and lots of audio clips to set the site above the pack. Overall it's a good site, not great, but good. And good site plus weak competition equals the winner of the matrimonial Weekly Website Award.
