Movie Website Launches for February 11 - February 17

During the past week promotional websites for several movies were launched and some older ones added additional content. Here the list of this week's releases, a couple of new sites and a few updates, including this week's winner, Sin City - Official Site. If you know of any new movie websites not on this list feel free to e-mail me with the details.

Because of Winn-Dixie
Current Content: Clips from the soundtrack were added to the site just in time for tomorrow's theatrical debut.

Constantine
Current Content: No real changes since last week, but the site is still very good, with all the usual features and enough flash to keep surfers interested.

D.E.B.S.
Current Content: A couple of clips and the photo gallery were added to the site.

Cry Wolf
Current Content: The trailer is now marked coming soon.

Diary of a Mad Black Woman
Current Content: The second entry of the director's diary was added to the site.

Downfall
Current Content: No changes in a while, but the site is well down with the usual features. However, there is little in way of animation and no sound or extras.

Dust to Glory
Current Content: The site was reduced to a placeholder site with the full site marked coming soon.

Eternal
Current Content: It has been a while since this site won the Weekly Website Award, but this week there's been an update regarding its release date for the States - a limited release, in the early Spring.

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
Current Content: NEW TRAILER! Sorry, my inner geek got a little excited there. Strangely it's on Amazon, but at least you can get a new look at the movie.

In My Country
Current Content: While this site has plenty of sound and animation, there's little in the way of flash, which is good given the subject matter. Also, while it has all the usual features there is little in the way of extras with the Director's Statement being the most unique aspect of the site.

The Jacket
Current Content: The section called, "Check Yourself In" was added to the site. It's a section to submit fan art.

Lovewrecked
Current Content: Just a placeholder site with the synopsis and cast and crew list so far. I expect a new site, with a new URL well before this movie is released.

Melinda and Melinda
Current Content: The flash site launched this week and it's quite good. It has all the usual features, good background music and plenty of audio clips. Granted, half of them are just various characters saying, "Melinda" but it does add a certain charm to the site.

Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous
Current Content: Two sections were added to the site: "About the Film" and "Meet Special Agent Hart." The former section contains the usual information, synopsis, cast and crew bios and production notes (all but the first section is still marked coming soon). The latter section contains information on the first film in the form of a book review and character bios. This is either a really good placeholder site, or a rather plain full site.

Naked Fame
Current Content: Simple site with just the synopsis, image gallery and trailer. The only extra is a song recorded by Colton Ford, the subject of the documentary.

Night Watch
Current Content: So far the site only has the synopsis for actual content, but there's a short, but cool animated intro as well as a spider baby that follows your cursor on that section. Definitely bodes well for the full site.

The Pacifier
Current Content: Just the synopsis, image gallery and trailer.

Robots
Current Content: The image gallery was added to the site.

Schultze Gets the Blues
Current Content: This is good, simple site with all the usual features but not a lot of flash. It also has some fun features like information on the music in the movie and some of the recipes.

Sex, Cocktails and Politics
Current Content: The site's undergone a complete redesign and now has the synopsis, image gallery and trailer.

Sin City
Current Content: Even if you have no interest in this movie, you have to check out the trailer. This is what happens when style overtakes all other concerns when making a movie. Normally this is a really bad idea, but I think Robert Rodriguez can pull it off. Anyway, back to the site. This one is excellent with all the usual features (synopsis, image gallery and trailer), some of which are marked coming soon (cast and crew bios, production notes). It also has plenty of extras like character bios. Well, not really bios, but they have an animated intro and a download section for each. Also, there are several games to play, but only one, "Shoot!" available to play now. Add in sections for clips, soundtrack and the book marked coming soon as this site has huge potential to build on its vile Weekly Website Award.

Son of the Mask
Current Content: A full song was added to the site. Overall this is a good site, not great, but compared to the movie reviews, it's better than the movie itself.

Tideland
Current Content: A couple of more behind-the-scenes clips were added with Regean Forget the hair stylist and his work on Jodelle Ferland and Brendan Fletcher.

Tom Yung Goong
Current Content: Just the trailer so far.

Turtles Can Fly
Current Content: Not your typical IFC movie website. The site has mostly the same features (synopsis, cast and crew list, director's bio and statement, image gallery), but with just a bit of extra style.

Wallace & Gromit
Current Content: Just the synopsis and a behind the scenes video clips, but with plenty of sound and animation. It shows great promise.
