Movie Website Updates for June 24 - June 30

During the past week promotional websites for several movies were launched and some older ones added additional content. Here the list of this week's releases, a couple of new sites and few updates, including this week's winner, Pretty Persuasion - Official Site.

Aeon Flux
Not really movie related, but the trailer for the video game is up.

April's Shower
The site has all the usual features, but not enough style to make it stand out in a crowded field.

Asylum
It was the website for Asylum that was updated last week and not Ask the Dust as I reported. Sorry for the confusion. This week the site added the trailer, but the full site is still marked coming soon.

The Beat That My Heart Skipped
Typical WellSpring movie site.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Side sites were created for each of the children, (except Charlie) and the Oompa Loompas. On a side note, am I the only one that's getting seriously creeped out by the Oompa Loompas?

The Constant Gardener
Just the trailer so far.

Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo
The production notes were added to the site, as was a Q&A with Doctor Deuce. It's mildly entertaining, but it didn't make me want to see the movie.

Domino
As you may have heard, Domino Harvey, the inspiration for this film, died earlier in the week. There is a short statement on the site in reaction to this shocking and sad news.

Elizabethtown
The trailer was added to the site, as was a much longer video of clips set to an Elton John song. It looks like one of those quirky comedies that critics will love, but will be too difficult to market. Fortunately, this type of films is usually inexpensive to make, so it should still show a profit in the end.

Fantastic Four
Did they change the look of the placeholder site? Specifically, is Jessica Alba showing more cleavage than before? I swear she is, but it could just be my imagination. There's also a new section called, "Enter the Baxter Building" but when I click on it nothing happens. Like the game, I assume I'll have to wait till that feature is on the international sites before I can access it.

Get Rich or Die Trying
Just a placeholder site with no real content.

Into the Blue
The placeholder site was redesigned and any traces of individuality the previous site had were removed.

The Island
There's yet another new site launched this week, You Have Been Chosen. This site includes two clips, one of Jordan Two-Delta being chosen in the lottery, and the other of an action clip, with an introduction by Scarlett Johansson. Quite frankly, the clip left me cold.

Kamikaze Girls
There's a lot of information to get through on this site. There's the usual stuff, but also a glossary of terms, which is probably the most important section for domestic audiences if they want to understand the movie better.

King Kong
The placeholder site is up and it includes not only the synopsis and the image gallery, but also the trailer. This film has a lot of hype to live up to and while the trailer helps, I'm still not sure if it can live up to high demands placed on it.

Must Love Dogs
This site slipped under my radar for far too long and has probably been active for more than a week, (and the placeholder site has probably been online for more than a month.) So for the site has all the usual features, (bios and production notes are marked coming soon) and there are some extras in the activities section, (also marked coming soon.) The site has a good use of animation and there are a few video clips that play on the Film section, however, they are way too quiet compared to the rest of the site.

No Entry
This site definitely has the feel of a Bollywood extravaganza, but it's a little light on special features.

Pretty Persuasion
The flash site launched this week and it has an excellent style; the main site is set up like a board game with the spinner showing all the usual information, (synopsis, cast & crew bios, image gallery, trailer) and an interesting extra. The board itself delves into the movie revealing a little information on each square, (both the synopsis and character bios.) The other extra is the Audio section that includes nine clips from the movie, some of which the MPAA would rate an R for language and suggestive comments. Just a little warning for those of you at work. The board game motif really sets the site apart from its competition this week making it the winner of the seductive Weekly Website Award.

Rebound
No real changes since last week.

Roll Bounce
The flash site launched this week but just the synopsis, image gallery, trailer and downloads are on the site while everything else is marked coming soon. At least there are plenty of extras to look forward to.

Stealth
My record was finally beaten, so congratulations to Drew Clark.

Tideland
Another behind-the-scenes clip was added, this one about the filming of the concert scene.

Undead
There were a couple of features added just in time for tomorrow's release. Firstly, there's a look inside the bunker with tips on how to survive and secondly, there a soundboard, which would be rated R by the MPAA, or PG-13 at the very least. Might not want to listen to it while you're at work.

V For Vendetta
There's a new look and a couple of new features to go with it. There's the image gallery and the new poster.

War of the Worlds
The film opened yesterday, but I'm still not that impressed with the site. There's nothing overtly wrong with it, it just never got me excited about seeing the movie and that's a movie site's most important job.

Wedding Crashers
Two more features were added to the crashers' kit, the automatic speech writer and the Hero Photos editor.

Zathura
Brand new look, mostly the same old content. The biggest new feature is the game, or should I say games. There are more games which can be played solo or against a friend. The section is extremely well done, but doesn't really help sell the movie.
