  • Barefoot Ki-bong remained in second place in South Korea down just 21% to $2.54 million on 280 screens for a total of $16.10 million after 3 weeks.
  • No new openings left Scary Movie 4 falling out of the top five with $2.47 million on 2270 screens in 28 markets for a total of $61.07 million. The film still have a few more markets left to open in, including France where it will open in mid-June.

  • The Inside Man held up well despite opening in no major or ever midlevel markets this week. It did add $2.15 million on 1474 screens in 33 markets to its international total of $83.87 million and is now two or so weeks away from topping its domestic total on the international scene.
  • Prime earned just $1.98 million on 662 screens in 7 markets, but that was nearly enough for it to finish in the top ten on the international charts this weekend. It skyrocketed thanks to its second place opening in the U.K. where it earned $1.61 million on 384 screens, which is an average result compared to the rest of its $39.84 million international run.
  • Memories Of Tomorrow opened in second place in in Japan with $1.84 million on 263 screens securing 12th place on the international charts.
  • Eight Below saw one of the worst week-to-week declines this weekend falling 52% to $1.77 million on 1720 screens in 24 markets for a total of $33.28 million. The film has a few more markets to open in, but it won't add too much to its current international total.
  • 36 China Town, a crime thriller / comedy / Musical from India, expanded this week and entered the charts for the first time. Overall the film made $1.73 million on 414 screens in 19 markets for a two-week total of $1.98 million.
  • Final Destination 3 opened in fourth place in South Korea with $1.01 million on 129 screens over the weekend and $1.19 million in total. That was the majority of the film's weekend box office of $1.69 million on 477 screens in 16 markets while its total now sits at $56.17 million.
  • Asterix and the Vikings re-entered the top twenty landing in 16th place with $1.56 million on 1144 screens in 9 markets for a $13.21 million total. This growth was thanks almost entirely due to its fourth place, $808,000 opening on 516 screens in Germany.
  • The Wild fell farther down the charts with $1.40 million on 1646 screens in 32 markets for a total of $31.20 million after a month of release. The film has yet to open in many international market, but it is already very close to topping its domestic total.
  • Bloody Tie remained in third place in South Korea with $1.31 million on 260 screens for a three week total of $12.33 million.

  • When a Stranger Calls re-entered the charts in 20th place with $1.31 million on 695 screens in 19 markets for a very disappointing total of just $8.55 million internationally. Most of the film's weekend box office came from the U.K. where it opened in third place with $934,000 on 304 screens.
  • Quatre Etoiles remained in fourth place in France despite falling more than 50% to just $1.1 million in that market. Its overall total held up slightly better down 46% to $1.26 million on 332 screens in 3 markets for a two-week total of $4.47 million.
  • Fellow French film, OSS 117: Le Caire Nid D'Espions, held up better scoring 22nd place overall with $1.25 million on 565 screens in 3 markets for a total of $16.01 million.
  • Take the Lead is still coasting on holdover, but it is coasting well down less than 40% to $1.17 million on 683 screens in 9 markets for a total of $13.60 million after a month of release. Almost half of that total, $5.12 million, has come from Italy, including $604,000 on 285 screens this past weekend.
  • V for Vendetta is shedding screens and markets at an accelerated rate and that explains why it lost more than half of last weekend's box office. This week it fell ten place hitting 24th with $1.05 million on 1006 screens in 38 markets for an international total of $58.24 million. That's a disappointing total, but at least it is enough that the film should show a profit sometime on the home market.
  • Detective Conan: Requiem Of The Detectives had the worst week-to-week drop off on the charts this weekend plummeted 63% to $1.03 million on 294 screens for a total of $24.31 million after one month of release. This is a very high drop-off, especially compared to historical norms in Japan.
  • The Constant Gardener opened in fourth place in Japan with $916,000 on 231 screen, which is well below the $5000 per screen average that usually separates the winners from the losers in this market. However, with $949,000 on 283 screen in 5 markets over the weekend and $47.14 million in total, the film is already a financial success.
  • Failure to Launch was nearly flat adding $898,000 on 675 screens in 28 markets to is total of $34.64 million on the international scene.
  • There were no new films in the top ten in Mexico and that helped Una Pelicula De Huevos remain in second place. Over the weekend it added $815,000 on 375 screens there and now has $10.52 million in total.
  • Confetti held on about as well as one could expect falling to fifth in the U.K. with $813,000 on 300 screens for a two week total of $2.61 million.
  • Les Aiguilles Rouges opened in seventh place in France with $809,000 on 378 screens, which was good enough for 30th place on the overall charts.
  • Thanks to a soft decline, the Canadian film, C.R.A.Z.Y., climbed into 10th place in France with $473,000 on 99 screens for the week for a two-week total of $1.13 million.
  • La Doublure opened in fifth place in Italy with $430,000 on 186 screens, which is an average start for a French There. Speaking of France, the film now has $21.62 million in that market and $27 million internationally.
  • The Pink Panther ended its international run with am eighth place, $417,000 opening on 132 screens in Japan. While this was a terrible result, the film has already made $75 million internationally, so there's little reason for the studio to complain.
  • Slither opened in Spain are a mere 80 screens, which would be like opening in just 600 theatres domestically. With that screen count in mind, it predictably failed to make the top ten with just $161,000 on 80 screens, which is barely more than it made it its third week in the U.K., ($114,000 on 163 screens for a three week total of $2.11 million). When a highly rated horror film flops in Spain of all places, some of the blame has to go to the distributor / marketing firm.
