Movie Website Updates for July 1st - July 7

After the busiest week in more than a month, we have the slowest. While there are several good sites on this week's list, they are either a bit below the award-worthy level, or they are all award winners. So the Weekly Website Award is taking a vacation this week.

Beerfest - Official Site
Just the synopsis and the image gallery so far.

Bring It On: All or Nothing - Official Site
More content was added to the Squad page including an interview and cheerleader tips.

Casino Royale - Official Site
This week's blog entry is on Dame Judi Dench and how during the filming if this movie she got to travel to more locations than in past films, as well as her experience working with the new Bond.

Clerks 2 - Official Site
Busy week with four new vide journal entries, including the second part of the Bob Hawk Interview. For those who prefer T&A to Q&A, stick with the most recent journal entry, which is about the photo shoot for the posters and includes two gratuitous slow-mo shots of Rosario Dawson.

Flyboys - Official Site
The site has all the usual features, but doesn't have a very polished feel for a major release from a major studio. It doesn't open till October, so I assume that will change.

The Illusionist - Official Site
All the usual features are here, (synopsis, cast and crew bios, image gallery, and trailer), as well as a several extra clips. It's enough to stand out and sell the film, but not enough to be an award-winner, yet. There is still more than a month till the movie opens, and things can change by then.

John Tucker Must Die - Official Site
Another movie with just a MySpace site for an official site. Hopefully that will change.

Little Miss Sunshine - Official Site
All the usual features are here, as well as plenty of video clips. The animated background was nice, but the music was too repetitive.

Mini's First Time - Official Site
They've added a MySpace page. Also, they've set up a phone number that you can call to hear Mini, (Call 877-MINIS FIRST).

Once in a Lifetime - Official Site
Better than average site for a documentary with some rather unusual features for such a movie, like the soundtrack. Also of note, there is a timeline, but there are two very big problems. Firstly, he entry for 1977 is too big for the screen and you can't read all of it. Secondly, the 1950 World Cup game between the U.S. and the U.K. wasn't a massive upset because at the time the U.K. didn't have a strong professional football league. They were made up of amateurs, just like the American team. Looking back it seems like an upset because the U.K. has gone on to become a world power in the sport.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - Official Site
The last three games were added to the site, and all three were more action oriented that the previous ones. Easily the best site on this week's list, but it was already awarded the Weekly Website Award, so there's no need to give it another.

Pulse - Official Site
The second trailer was added to the site, but my interest in the movie is rapidly declining. Part of the problem in all of the release dates the film has had. First it was going to come out winter of 2005, then summer 2006, then fall 2006, now it's back to summer, I think. Even the site has given up and now says, "Coming Soon."

Quinceanera - Official Site
The flash site launched this week and it has all the usual information, as well as enough sound and animation to keep the site from getting dull. I especially like the background quotes and songs.

A Scanner Darkly - Official Site
No much has changed since it won the award, but it's an award winning site, so not much needed to be changed.

You, Me and Dupree - Official Site
A new clip of Dupree at the X-games was added to the site.
