Volver fell a tiny 14.41% during its second weekend of release while it easily won the per theater race with an average of $33,842 in five theatres. The only other movie to top $10,000 was the overall box office leader, Borat, with an average of $11,017 in its 2,566 theaters, which is simply amazing.

The rest of the new releases were well behind, with only a few doing reasonably well. For instance, Samoan Wedding and Fur were neck and neck with $7,852 and $7,204 respectively. Next up was Cave of the Yellow Dog with $5,229 in its lone theater. The rest of the new releases really struggled. Iraq in Fragments earned close to $25,000 in 7 theaters for an average of $3,491. Even lower down the charts were Copying Beethoven with $2,710, F*ck with $2,650, and Come Early Morning with $2,280. And finally there was A New Day In Old Sana'a with a mere $401 in its lone theater.

This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theatre Charts alumni:

• Don hit $2 million late during the midweek, but that is likely as far as it will go.
• The Last King of Scotland topped $3 million during the weekend, and unless it starts earning some serious Oscar buzz, it won't make it very much further than that.
• Babel earned $5 million over the weekend and hit several milestones along the way. While this it has likely peaked at the box office, it should have no problem reaching a few more milestones before its theatrical run is over.
