Per Theater Chart is a Lonely Avenue

Avenue Montaigne was the only film to top $10,000 on the Per Theater Chart this week. The film dipped less than 30% but maintained an average of $10,376 in its two theaters.

On Friday I said Starter For Ten had the best shot at mainstream success out of this week's new limited releases. And while it did top those films on the per theater chart, its average of $1,857 is still terrible. Gray Matters was just a tiny fraction behind with $1,714 while Glastonbury pulled in $1,179 in its lone theater.

This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theatre Chart alumni:

  • Eklavya - The Royal Guard reached $1 million over the weekend, but that's as far as it will go.
  • Factory Girl topped $1 million midweek but will have trouble getting to $2 million.
  • The Lives of Others hit $1 million over the weekend and with the Oscar win, it is far from done.
  • Little Children made it to $5 million midweek. Even if the film had won Oscars over the weekend, it would not have made it much further.
