No New Releases do as Good as Shepherd on the Home Market

It was a slow week for new releases with only one able to make the top ten on the rentals charts. This left The Good Shepherd free to remain in top spot with $7.15 million for the week and $15.81 during its run so far. Like first place, there were no changes in the rest of the top five with Pursuit of Happyness placing second with $6.52 million during the week and $24.95 million after three while Happy Feet added $5.30 million to its running tally of $20.40 million. The oldest release in the top was is Blood Diamond at four weeks; in that time the film had taken in $27.78 million, including $27.78 million. The final film in the top five was Charlotte's Web with a sophomore stint of $4.69 million for a two-week total of $10.37 million.

The first, and only new release to chart was Bobby, which placed eighth with $3.68 million.

There was a little bit more movement on the sales chart as Happy Feet regained the lead over Charlotte's Web, but it was extremely close race. Pursuit of Happyness and The Good Shepherd remained in third and fourth place respectively while Bobby opened in fifth place.

Only two other new releases charted this week with Scooby Doo, Where Are You! - The Complete Third Season placing 18th and Ric Flair & The Four Horsemen placing 20th.
