This includes a first place, $1.89 million opening on 470 screens in Russia, while the film added $933,000 on 394 screens in the U.K. for a total of $8.40 million so far.

  • Lions for Lambs expanded over the weekend but still fell 46% to $5.57 million on 2706 screens in 52 markets for a total of $19.49 million. As the first film for the newly re-launched United Artists, this result is just short of a disaster. Only a relatively low production budget will save the movie now.
  • Matrimonio Alle Bahamas, which means Marriage in the Bahamas, maybe, opened in first place in its native market with $4.41 million on 431 screens. This was nearly double its nearest competitor, another local production.
  • Resident Evil: Extinction opened in Poland with $223,000 on 55 screens, while adding $3.81 million on 1483 screens in 39 markets for a total of $86.20 million. The film is the biggest hit is the franchise, however, a weak American dollar has a lot to do with that.

  • Saawariya absolutely collapsed during its second weekend of release as its box office disintegrated by 72% while it fell from second to eleventh in terms of ranking. It still managed to add $3.72 million on 822 screens in 13 markets for a total of $17.06 million, but that might not be enough to show a profit.
  • Lust, Caution fell out of the top ten with $3.70 million on 710 screens in 15 markets for a total of $34.03 million. This includes $2.69 million in China, but that was for the whole week, giving the film $13.45 million there. It also added $1.64 million on 300 screens in South Korea, which was down just 4% and lifted its total to $4.73 million after two.

Overall the film climbed into 18th place with $2.66 million on 1434 screens in 24 markets for a total of $80.11 million. • Michael Clayton returned to the charts in 24th place with $1.89 million on 750 screens in 18 markets for a total of 23.33 million. This was mostly thanks to the film's third place, $1.26 million opening on 263 screens in Spain.
