There were plenty of newreleases to chart this week on the rental chart, but The Game Plan remained in first place for the third week in a row with $7.41 million for the week and $26.08 million after three.
The Brave One was the best of the new releases, coming in second with $6.98 million. Good Luck Chuck and Saw IV were neck and neck at $5.58 million and $5.29 million, while the two films have earned $33.30 million and $20.25 million respectively. Elizabeth: The Golden Age opened in fifth place with $5.08 million.
There were five other new releases to chart, starting with Across the Universe in eighth place with $4.45 million. the Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford opened in 10th place with $4.35 million. The Jane Austen Book Club nearly earned more during its first week on the home market than it did during its theatrical run, coming in 19th place with $3.33 million. Feast of Love did nearly the same by placing 23rd with $2.53 million while 2 Days in Paris came in 28th with $2.14 million to round out the new releases.
