Kung Fu Panda saw its weekend numbers climb by close to 70%, and its weekend haul of $40.16 million on 5325 screens in 40 markets was the best of its run so far. A run that has brought in $154.13 million so far. However, it still remained in second place thanks to the opening of Hancock. The film had a pair of second place openings including the U.K. where it made $8.63 million on 446 screens over the weekend for a total of $11.96 million. Meanwhile in Germany it was not as strong with $4.48 million on 831 screens, but it still managed second place. The film also slipped to second place in Australia, but it held well down just 24% to $3.83 million on 363 screens over the weekend for a total of $13.63 million.
- The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian opened in first place in Spain with $4.20 million on 625 screens over the weekend for a total of $5.91 million. Meanwhile the film was down 50% during its second weekend in the U.K. earning $4.03 million on 540 screens over the weekend for a total of $15.17 million after two. This is well below the original's pace, which had earned just over $30 million at this point. On the other hand, it is holding up better in France down less than 10% to $6.40 million on 769 screens for a total of $16.14 million. Overall the film made $24.72 million on 5127 screens in 39 markets for a total of $194.22 million with openings in Germany and Italy still ahead.
- Wanted fell from first to fourth with $17.96 million on 2323 screens in 23 markets for a total of $63.68 million after two weeks of release. Its only opening of note was Italy where it placed first in a close race with $1.51 million on 393 screens over the weekend for a total of $2.19 million. It also held well in Russia adding $6.5 million on 613 screens for a total of $21.7 million after just 2 weeks of release, which is the 10th highest total in that market ever.
- WALL-E leaped into the top five with $13.74 million on 2147 screens in 11 markets for a total of $18.75 million. This includes a first place, $5.37 million opening on 44 screens in Mexico, which was the best opening there for a Disney film. The film was also the biggest Disney opening in Russia where it made an estimated $5 million on 500 screens.
- Sex and the City crossed $200 million internationally since last weekend and now had $214.16 million. This includes $8.39 million on 3972 screens in 54 markets this past weekend. The film is still active in a number of markets, but it only cracked $1 million in Australia, barely. There is made $1.00 million on 299 screens over the weekend for a total of $23.61 million after a month of released. Meanwhile in the U.K., the film crossed the $50 million mark and now has $50.21 million after six weeks of release, including $557,000 on 209 screens this past weekend.
- Indiana Jones And The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull slipped a spot to seventh with $8.21 million on 2737 screens in 44 markets for a total of $430.09 million internationally and $736.52 million worldwide. The film is still 29th all-time in that measure, at least at the end of last weekend, but it overtook The Matrix Reloaded sometime during the week.

- The final film in the top ten was The Incredible Hulk with $4.65 million on 3353 screens in 51 markets for a total of $94.87 million. This weekend the film opens in Germany, while it does end its run till the beginning of August when it opens in Japan. It will have reached $100 million internationally before then, and it will likely have topped its predecessor as well.
- The Happening is shedding screens and markets, but it still added $4.31 million on 3064 screens in 38 markets for a total of $78.88 million. The film has not yet opened in Japan, but unless it is a bigger hit than expected there, it won't reach $100 million internationally.
- Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na scored 12th place with $3.46 million on just 423 screens in 14 markets, which is a better per screen average than most Indian films manage. However, its prospects at expansion are limited.
- Public Enemy Returns slipped another spot to third place in South Korea with $2.51 million on 523 screens while its total climbed to $21.75 million.
- Seuls Two, which is French for Two Seuls, slipped a spot to third in France with $2.11 million on 549 screens over the weekend for a total of $7.08 million after two. Add in smaller markets and the film placed 14th with $2.22 million on 576 screens in three markets over the weekend for a total of $7.20 million in total.
- Fellow French film, Mes Amis, Mes Amours (a.k.a My Friends, My Lovers), opened in second place in France with $2.14 million on 352 screens over the weekend.
- Mamma Mia! opened in a couple of international markets in advance of its domestic debut. In Greece, where the film is set, it earned first place with $1.60 million on 156 screens. Meanwhile in the U.K., it opened in one theater earning $244,000, breaking a record for musicals previously held by Chicago. This is a great start, but it is way too early to make any predictions based on its numbers so far
- You Don't Mess With The Zohan saw its weekend haul sliced in half to $1.82 million on 644 screens in 9 markets for a total of $23.16 million after a month of release. This might be the last time it appears on this list till it opens in Germany in the middle of August, but I has reasonably strong expectations there.
- Love Story 2050 struggled internationally with $1.75 million on 793 screens in 17 markets, including weak business in its native India.
- The Magic Hour remained in third place in Japan and was down to 19th place internationally with $1.63 million on 379 screens over the weekend for a total of $28.05 million after a month of release.
- Forgetting Sarah Marshall rounded out the top 20 with $1.60 million on 906 screens in 20 markets for a total of $33.82 million. The film did not have any major openings this week, but it did make $585,000 on 252 screens during its second weekend in Spain; this was down a mere 5% from its opening, and lifted its total to $1.60 million after two weeks.
- The Climbers High opened in Japan with $1.58 million on 284 screens. This was enough for fourth in its native market and 21st internationally.
- Un'Estate Al Mare slipped to second place in Italy but still added $1.51 million on 569 screens for a total of $5.18 million after two weeks of release.
- Made of Honour added $1.47 million on 1156 screens in 26 markets for a total of $50.57 million. The film's next milestone is $100 million worldwide, which is should reach shortly.
- What Happens in Vegas... earned $1.30 million on 893 screens in 23 markets for a total of $128.16 million. The film is just coasting on holdovers at the moment, and than won't change till it opens in Japan at the end of next month.
- This could be the last week for 21 in the $1 million club as it is screens and markets rather rapidly. It did manage to pull in added $1.29 million on 659 screens in 29 markets for a total of $73.26 million.
- Speed Racer returned to the charts thanks to its opening in Japan, however, with just $984,000 on 450 screens, it is officially a bomb there. Overall it made $1.23 million on 902 screens in 15 markets for a total of $43.07 million, but that's just as week as its domestic number.
- Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic plummeted 67% to $1.15 million on 1652 screens in 16 markets over the weekend, while its runny tally hit just $4.62 million. It is safe to call this Indian film a flop.
- Dasavatharam has faired better earning $1.12 million on 543 screens in 7 markets for a total of $16.23 million, which is better than average for Indian films and enough to be considered a midlevel hit.
- The final $1 million movie was Street Kings $1.07 million on 501 screens in 5 markets for a total of $35.22 million. This includes a ninth place, $48,000 opening on 15 screens in Poland.
