Elegy topped the charts with more than $100,000 in 6 theaters for an average of $17,361. The only other film to top $10,000 was Beautiful Losers, which barely crossed that milestone with $10,607 in one theater.

Two new releases came within $100 of each other as What We Do Is Secret earned $5,888 and Bottle Shock earned $5,788. Beer for My Horses did better than I thought it would, but it still barely reached above the Mendoza Line with $2,299, and there's almost no chance to expand at this point. Two other films missed that mark with Red earning $1,588 and Hell Ride earning $1,222.

This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theater Chart alumni:

• It took more than a month, but Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson hit $1 million early in the weekend. However, it is very likely that that's as far as it will go.
• Brideshead Revisited made it to $2 million before the weekend and $3 million during the weekend. At this pace it should reach $4 million early this week, and possible $5 million by this time next week, while $10 million overall is within reach.
