New releases were spread thin on the rental chart this week, but one of them, Journey to the Center of the Earth, did earn first place and earned nearly 25% more than the second place The Incredible Hulk. Third place went to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, while The Strangers topped Iron Man in a close battle for fourth place.

The best of the rest of the new releases was Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, which only managed 10th place. Meanwhile, Death Defying Acts opened in 21st place and Hell Ride landed in 25th. The number one release on the sales chart, Tinker Bell, only managed 29th place on the rental chart.
