- Public Enemy Number One Part 2 made its debut in fifth place with $5.96 million on 530 screens in 3 markets. This is almost identical to what its predecessor earned during its opening at the end of October. Of that, $4.86 million was earned on 500 screens in France, which was enough for first place in its native market.
- High School Musical 3: Senior Year fell from second to sixth with $4.92 million on 4120 screens in 31 markets for a total of $129.89 million. - Platon opened in first place in Russia with $2.61 million on 464 screens and in the Ukraine with $226,000 on 46. Add those two markets together and you have a 12th place international opening with $2.83 million on 510 screens.
- I Want To Be A Shellfish opened in second place in Japan and 13th internationally with $2.68 million on 330 screens.
- Saw V had one of the worst performances on the international chart this week down more than 50% to $2.59 million on 1557 screens in 36 markets for a total of $36.81 million. It had no major openings this past weekend, but did open in Japan on the 28th.
- The Ottoman Republic opened in first place in its native Turkey with $1.99 million on 205 screens. It also did well in Germany placing seventh with $318,000 on just 35 screens. Overall the film placed 15th with $2.51 million on 256 screens, which is exceedingly strong for a Turkish film.
- La Fidanzata Di Papà slipped to second place in Italy and 16th place internationally with $2.220 million on 491 screens over the weekend and $6.72 million after two.
- My Best Friend's Girl returned to the chart in 17th place with $2.20 million on 806 screens in 13 markets for a total of $13.69 million. It managed third place in the U.K. with $1.36 million on 354 screens, while it added $408,000 on 185 screens over the weekend in Spain for a total of $1.22 million after two.
- Vilaine added $2.11 million on 259 screens in 2 markets to its total of $5.15 million after two weeks of release. Of that figure, $4.21 million has been raised in France, including $1.73 million on 246 screens this past weekend.
- Mindo, Portrait Of A Beauty dipped just 16%, which is near miraculous for a South Korean film, while it remained in first place in its native market with $2.11 million on 450 screens for a total of $6.46 million after two weeks of release.
- Public Enemy Number One Part 1 landed in 20th place with $2.04 million on 922 screens in 6 markets for a total of $22.42 million. The combined with its sequel, the two French film managed $8.01 million.
- Blindness is performing better internationally than it is domestically, but that is damning it with faint praise. Over the past weekend the film earned just a hair under $2.00 million on 648 screens in 16 markets for a running tally of a mere $9.43 million.
- A Very Russian Detective opened in second place in Russia with $1.78 million on 527 screens. While it made $154,000 on 70 screens in the Ukraine.
- Desires of the Heart debuted in China with $1.83 million on 705 screens. That was enough for second place in its native marked and 23rd internationally.
- Two Lovers opened in fifth place in France and 24th place internationally with $1.82 million on 229 screens. Its release date in the United States has been pushed back to February 13, that's Friday the 13th, the day before Valentine's day. I don't know what that means, but I'm sure it's a sign of something.
- Musée Haut, Musée Bas opened in sixth place in France and 25th place internationally with $1.73 million on 305 screens in its native market.
- Happy Fight slipped a spot to third in Japan while it fell to 26th place internationally with $1.62 million on 307 screens over the weekend for a total of $5.81 million after two.
- No new openings sent Burn After Reading tumbling from 12th to 27th with $1.60 million on 1223 screens in 26 markets for a total of $70.27 million. Depending on how well it does in France next month, it could reach $100 million, but that's a stretch.
- Welcome to the Sticks earned $1.33 million on 449 screens in 7 markets for a total of $225.18 million, all on a production budget of just 11 million Euro, or about $15 million American.
- Vicky Cristina Barcelona is already one of Woody Allen's biggest hits of his career and this week it added $1.28 million on 556 screens in 17 markets for a total of $43.61 million. Additionally, it has openings in Germany, Russia, Australia, the U.K., and Japan yet to happen, and it will undoubtedly add significantly to its total before it is done.
- Nights in Rodanthe nearly fell out of the top 30 just grabbing onto the final spot on the chart with $1.16 million on 1224 screens in 28 markets for a total of $29.52 million. The film is rapidly running out of markets to open in, so it looks like it won't be able to match its domestic total on the international scene.
