DVD Rentals - Dog Days on the Rental Chart

There was a trio of new releases that finished one-two-three on the rental chart this week. This group was led by Marley and Me, which generated roughly 50% more rentals than either Seven Pounds or Slumdog Millionaire, which finished in a close race for second place. Quantum of Solace fell to fourth place, while Twilight rounded out the top five.

Bedtime Stories placed eighth with just a couple days of rentals. Meanwhile, Tell No One opened in 30th place.

The overall rental market was down by 6.7% from last weekend at $159.8 million; however, that was still 16.7% higher than the same weekend last year. Two weeks in a row of improvement, which is a great sign.
