Just as it did on the sales chart, Taken led all new release and placed first overall. It generated nearly double the revenue The Curious Case of Benjamin Button manage, while fellow new release Underworld - Rise of the Lycans was right behind. Bride Wars fell to fourth place, while Hotel for Dogs rounded out the top five.

The next best new release was Passengers, which placed 14th. Baby on Board, which came out as a rental weeks ahead of its sales release, earned 22nd place. Meanwhile, The Grudge 3 opened in 30th place.

Total rentals were $166.5 million, which was down 4.7% from last week. However, that was 10.7% higher than the same weekend last year, meaning we've had four weeks of year-to-year growth.
