DVD Rentals - Long-term Rental

New releases were a little more plentiful on the rental chart than they were on the sales chart, but a holdover still led the way. Paul Blart - Mall Cop earned first place for the second week in a row, generating about 30% more rentals than Taken, which rose to second place. Valkyrie slipped a spot to third place, well ahead of New in Town, which barely topped The Curious Case of Benjamin Button for fifth place.

Killshot opened in eighth place, just ahead of Powder Blue in ninth place. Night Train isn't being released for sale on DVD or Blu-ray until July, but it placed 18th on the rental chart this past week.

Total rentals slumped 15% from last week to $135.8 million, which was the worst performance in the past few months. However, that was still 5.1% higher than the same week last year and continues 2009's six-week winning streak.
