Dora the Explorer: Let's Explore - Buy from Amazon

Dora The Explorer's latest DVD release is a bit of a change of pace. Instead of four episodes, Let's Explore! Dora's Greatest Adventures has eight, and for the same list price. So right away its easy to see it's a better deal in terms of price per minute, but what about the episodes themselves?

  1. Lost Map
A rather dim bird is collecting sticks for its nest, but when it sees Map, it grabs him instead. Now Dora and Boots have to draw a map of their own to help rescue the real Map.
  2. Hide and Go Seek
Dora and her friends are playing hide and go seek, and you're it. So you have to look for Dora, Boots, and the others. But don't worry, they'll give you hints.
  3. Journey to the Purple Planet
Several aliens come to Earth, but when their rocket ship falls apart, they need Dora's help getting back home. Fortunately, Isa has a rocket ship. (That could have come in handy previously.)
  4. Rescue, Rescue, Rescue!
Baby Jaguar makes a guest appearance on the show and is in need of rescuing. However, Isa and Benny also need rescuing. Who should Dora and Boots rescue first? And how?
  5. Star Catcher
Dora's grandmother gives Dora a Star Pocket so she can become a star catcher. However, Swiper takes it and throws it away so she'll never get it back. But you can help her find it, right?
  6. Star Mountain
Another Gift / Swiper episode. In this one Dora gets another gift from her grandmother, a necklace, but Swiper gets it and throws it on top of Star Mountain. Again the viewers have to help her get it back.
  7. Boots to the Rescue
The episode starts with Boots in Dora's room talking about the song she just wrote and will perform in school. However, Dora forget the song at home and it is up to Boots, and the viewer, to get the song back to her in time.
  8. Swiper the Explorer
Dora and Boots find a baby fox lost in the woods and are all set to take him back home when Swiper shows up. However, Swiper thinks the baby fox is so cute that he decides to help them instead of swiping anything.
The only extra on the DVD is a hide and seek game that should entertain the target demographic.

The Verdict

If your child is a fan of Dora The Explorer, then Let's Explore! Dora's Greatest Adventures is an excellent value with eight episodes for the same price as the previous DVDs with four-episodes.
