Nick Jr.: Brothers and Sisters - Buy from Amazon

The latest Nick Jr. release has a family theme, featuring five episodes from five shows about not just brothers and sisters, but also cousins and ... lanterns? The five episodes start with...

The Show

  1. Dora the Explorer: Big Sister Dora
I just reviewed the DVD this came from.
  2. Go, Diego, Go!: To Babysit a Bobo
Diego meets with the Bobo family, which has three new sisters, a silly one, a sporty one, and a shy one. When their brothers have trouble finding fruit for the family, they go off on their own and now Diego has to rescue them.
  3. Blue's Clues: The Baby's Here
Salt and Pepper are having a baby and Steve and Blue want to do something to welcome the new baby. We'll have to play Blue's Clues to figure out what that is.
  4. Wonder Pets!: KalamaZoo! / Back to KalamaZoo!
The school is closed for vacation and the Wonder Pets have gone their separate way for their own vacations. Ming Ming travels to KalamaZoo to meet her aunt and has to babysit her cousin Marvin. Turns out her cousin is a lot more difficult to handle than his small size would indicate. In the second episode, Marvin is in trouble again, but this time all three Wonder Pets are on their way to the rescue.
  5. Ni Hao, Kai-Lan: Hoho's Big Flight
It's the Lantern Festival and Ni Hao and all of her friends get to be a part and carry their own lantern. They first paint animals on the lanterns, then they attach them to sticks, then they carry them around at night. However, Hoho has trouble paying attention and his lantern is blown away by the wind as a result.

The Extras

There are two songs by Team Umizoomi.

The Verdict

With a total running time of two hours, plus two short songs, Nick Jr.: Brothers and Sisters is good value for the money compared to a lot of similar preschool releases. If you have kids of the right age that are fans of these shows, then it is definitely worth picking up.
