Close, but no Cigar

March 31, 2004

No team could muster $10,000 per theatre this weekend, but two movies came awfully close. Bon Voyage, last week's winner, took top spot with an impressive $9,879 average in 6 theatres. Just $6 behind was Dogville which opened in 9 theatres.

This past week also saw some milestones reached for several Per Theatre Charts alumnus:

Monsieur Ibrahim hit $1 million sometime during the mid-week.
Goodbye, Lenin! is still expanding its theatre count and its box office, and this weekend it topped $1 million.
Although it never managed to make $10,000 per theatre, The Company has shown very strong legs earning $2 million very early in the mid-week.
Touching the Void climbed to $3 million earlier in the week.
Winner of the Best Foreign Language Oscar, The Barbarian Invasions just made it to $3 million this weekend. That's almost double its pre-Oscar earnings.
