Dora the Explorer - Buy from Amazon: Dora's Halloween Parade and Dora's Ballet Adventure
This week, two Dora the Explorer DVDs are coming out, but not all of them are making their debut on DVD. Dora's Halloween Parade is new to the home market, but Dora's Ballet Adventure was previously released as a Target exclusive. So what episodes are on the two DVDs and are they worth adding to your collection?
There are no extras on this DVD.
There are no extras on the DVD.
Dora the Explorer Dora's Halloween Parade and Dora's Ballet Adventure are both fun DVDs and are on par with other Dora releases. However, the lack of extras and the duplicate episodes do lower the value somewhat.
Dora's Halloween Parade
It's Halloween and Dora and Boots are dressed up in their Halloween costumes (a bee and a rocket respectively). They are going to be in a parade, but before they can get there, they hear the Little Monster crying, because he can't be in the parade, because he doesn't have a costume. (He is a costume.) This is a fun episode, because even the minor characters are dressed up, even the Map.
I've reviewed this episode before, I believe as part of a Nick Jr mixed DVD. Dora and Boots help The Little Monster get back home.
It's Backpack's turn to dress up and be part of a parade. In fact, she's the star of the parade and will be singing a song. So they better get there soon.
The townsfolk are having a music festival but Senior Shush hates all of the noise, so he locks up the instruments in a music box that can only be opened with music. But since they have no instruments, they can't make any music. (I guess singing doesn't count. Or tapping out a beat.) So Dora and Boots head over there so they can make music with their flute and maracas. The Extras
Dora's Ballet Adventure
Dora's dance class is doing a recital in front of all the kids' familys, and Dora is the lead. As the kids are getting ready, the Delivery Duck arrives with their ballet slippers, but to their horror, he's brought scuba flippers instead. You can't dance in flippers, so Dora and Boots are off to retrieve the slippers so the show can go on.
Yep, this episode is on both DVDs.
I reviewed this episode as part of the Dora re-releases earlier this year.
It's Boot's birthday and Dora is throwing a party for him. Dora and Boots will need your help to get to her house as fast as possible, but since they are carrying his birthday cake with them, you know Swiper is going to show up and try and spoil things. The Extras
