Power Rangers: Samurai: Christmas Together, Friends Forever - Buy from Amazon
The latest Power Rangers DVD release is not the typical single disc release featuring the next handful of episodes in the latest incarnation of the series. Instead it is a holiday themed episode with three Christmas specials from three different installments. So what shows are found here and is it worth checking out for fans?
Extras begin with a short stop-motion animated bit done with Mega Bloks. There are five Train Like a Rangers segments. Finally, there's a video for Power Rangers Swarm.
Power Rangers: Samurai: Christmas Together, Friends Forever is the same price as the most recent DVD releases, but there are only three episodes instead of four. Unless you really want a Christmas DVD from this franchise, it is probably better to stick with the regular releases.
The Show
It's the first Christmas together for the Power Rangers and Emily decides to write a Christmas letter to her sister, Serene. Meanwhile, Bulk and Spike are spending their first Christmas together, but Bulk is worried it won't be very festive, as they don't have the money to buy cool gifts. At least they have their memories of the year that past. What follows is a clip show.
It's nearly Christmas and the Power Rangers are helping the Ernie's Juice Bar get festive by putting up decorations and helping the children choir practice. Bulk and Skull are even doing their part, with the former dressing up as Santa and the latter dressing up as one of the reindeer. Not everyone is in a festive mood, as a young girl is upset her father won't be there for Christmas. Meanwhile, Zedd and Rita try to defeat the Power Rangers by going to the North Pole and holding Santa Claus. He will force the elves to make hypnotic spinning tops and give them to all of the kids in the world.
The episode begins with a grandfather telling his grandson about a story of a Christmas a long time ago. The Power Rangers were celebrating Christmas and learning about how other cultures and religions celebrate during this time of year. King Mondo, upset by the humans' cheerful nature, decides to destroy the holiday mood by casting a spell to make them intolerant of each other and fight during Christmas. A magic spell to make people fight during Christmas. Isn't that called Eggnog? The Extras
