Per Theater Chart: Gate Keeps Out Thief

February 13, 2013

The Gatekeepers remained in first place in the per theater chart with an average of $14,024 in three theaters. The only other film to top $10,000 on the per theater chart was Identity Thief with an average of $11,000, which is amazing for a wide release at this time of year.

The only other new limited release to do well was Lore with an average of $5,250 in six theaters. ABCD earned an average of $3,809, which is not great, but it was playing in 25 theaters. Midget Zombie Takeover only managed $2,755 in its lone theater, but it could have been worse. The Sorcerer and the White Snake missed the Mendoza Line with an average of $1,106 in five theaters.

This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theater Chart alumni:

  • Stand-Up Guys got to $2 million before the weekend and it is nearly at $3 million. However, it fell 56% during its sophomore stint, so it won't get much further beyond that.
  • Amour topped $3 million over the weekend, barely, but it should still get to $4 million before too long.
  • Quartet just got to $5 million over the weekend and while $10 million will be really hard to get to, it isn't impossible.
