Movie Websites Launches for October 15 - October 21

During the past week promotional websites for several movies were launched and some older ones added additional content. Here the list of this week's releases, a couple of new sites and few updates, including this week's winner Blade: Trinity - Official Site. If you know of any new movie websites not on this list feel free to e-mail me with the details.

2046
Current Content: Memories were added to the site, which is a slideshow / image gallery.

Alfie
Current Content: The section called Clips was added to the site, but it turns out to be a featurette about the music.

Blade: Trinity
Current Content: Two image galleries were added to the site, one for movie stills and the other for weapons. I found it funny that one of the movie stills has the caption, 'Ryan Reynolds, (left) and Paker Posey, (right.)' I don't think many people will confuse those two actors. There is also a video clip of the screenwriter, David S. Goyer, interviewing the director, David S. Goyer. On a side note, a new trailer that focuses on WWE star Triple H is on the net, but not yet on the site. Overall the site has an excellent mixture of features, regular features like synopsis, cast and crew bios, and production notes, extras like animated character intros and interviews. And I expect there to be at least one more big update before the movie opens, but the site so far it has what it takes to win the bloodsucking Weekly Website Award.

Bad Education
Current Content: This site is a bit light on features with just the synopsis, cast and crew, (no bios), image gallery and trailer, (marked coming soon.) The biggest section is about the direction, Pedro Almodovar, which includes a bio, filmography, interview and more.

Breaking Dawn
Current Content: Simple site without any sound and animation outside the trailer. It does have most of the usual features with synopsis, cast bios, crew list, image gallery and the trailer.

Christmas with the Kranks
Current Content: The Stocking Stuffer section was added this week. It contains downloads, as expected, but also the image gallery and the games.

Closer
Current Content: The TV Spot was added to the placeholder site.

The Devil's Rejects
Current Content: So far there is only a message from director, Rob Zombie.

The Grudge
Current Content: The movie opens tomorrow, but there have been no new updates for a couple of weeks.

House of Flying Daggers
Current Content: The reviews were added to the site.

In Good Company
Current Content: Just the synopsis, image gallery and a surprisingly effective trailer.

The Incredibles
Current Content: Four profiles were added to the site; three of them deal with the Incredibles and the fourth is for Edna Mode. There was also a feature called Picture Yourself as a Super Hero. However, the feature doesn't appear to work with Mozilla.

The Machinist
Current Content: A behind the scenes featurette was added to the site, or to be more specific, added to Apple.com. It focuses on the lengths Christian Bale went to for his role.

The Merchant of Venice
Current Content: Just the image gallery and the press kit.

Nathalie
Current Content: Typical Wellspring movie website.

Nina's Tragedies
Current Content: Typical Wellspring movie website.

Oldboy
Current Content: This is a great site, I think. I admit my Japanese is only on par with my French, ("Ahh, kamisama! Watashi no atama ni ono ga arimasu.") The site does have a lot of information and animation, but the language barrier is too much.

Robots
Current Content: Just the trailer so far.

Seed of Chucky
Current Content: The flash site launched this week and it has a good mix of regular features and extras, with a good amount of both marked coming soon. The synopsis, cast and crew bios, production notes, trailers, (both the teaser and the full trailer), e-cards and some downloads are on the site. Image gallery, behind the scenes, interviews, clips, blood lines and target practice are marked coming soon. The site also has a good style with some animation and plenty of audio clips.

Sex is Comedy
Current Content: Typical IFC film site.

Sideways
Current Content: This site as all the usual features, synopsis, cast and crew, trailer, and also several clips from the movie. These clips are a little short, but effective.

Surviving Christmas
Current Content: The film opens tomorrow and the flash site finally launched this week and there are a lot of video clips on the site. Most are from the trailer, which leads me to believe there are very few funny clips they could use. Besides the video clips, the site has all the usual features like the synopsis, cast and crew bios, image gallery and a couple of extras like Holiday Cocktail recipes and a section called Family Fun, (marked coming soon.)

Undertow
Current Content: A few clips were added to the site in time for tomorrow's opening.
