Synopsis

The story of a wedding between two women from two very different families. The Boyles are your typical American dysfunctional group of broken and clashing personalities. They travel to the bleak, grey beaches of Northwest Washington where the Sklar family has lived since the area was settled. The Sklars are grim, humorless and seem to adhere to an ancient form of witchcraft. We follow Kate as she reluctantly watches her sister Rose prepare to marry into the Sklars, but things take a much darker turn as secrets emerge from the dark, bloody history of her new in-laws.

Theater Averages: Jane Towers Above the Competition with $15,726

April 26th, 2017

Citizen Jane: Battle for the City

There were only two films in the $10,000 club on this week's theater average chart and both of them were biographical documentaries. Interesting coincidence. Citizen Jane: Battle for the City led the way with an average of $15,726 in two theaters. Meanwhile, Jeremiah Tower: The Last Magnificent just managed to hit the $10,000 mark with an average of $10,134, also in two theaters. More...

Limited and VOD Releases: The Happiest Week for Limited Releases

April 21st, 2017

The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Maki

Normally we only talk about films with ten or more reviews on this list, but this week there were just two such films: The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Maki and Slack Bay. Furthermore, only one of those is earning good reviews. There are also a couple of documentaries that are earning great reviews, but overall it is a slow week. More...
