Synopsis

Convinced that his buddy Nardo is making the mistake of a lifetime by marrying Tracy, Jason puts a dramatic end to their wedding. When the furious bride decides to take her Baja honeymoon solo, Nardo follows her south of the border—where the lovesick groom is carjacked and left stranded, naked and penniless in a remote part of the Mexican desert. With no one else to call for help, Nardo sends out an SOS to Jason and their pal Evan, an up-and-coming ad exec slated for an all-important business meeting the next morning. As Jason and a reluctant Evan rush to Nardo’s rescue, the trio embarks on a series of increasingly outrageous misadventures involving con artists, drug smugglers and even the Federales in this comedy.

The Mermaid

It's a strange week on the home market, as there are no first-run releases and very few other releases to make up the difference. There are some contenders for Pick of the Week, but all of them are foreign-language films, which is again odd. In fact, two of them, Only Yesterday and The Boy and the World, are animated. However, in the end, I went with The Mermaid, which deserves to be seen by more and Blu-ray is a great way to see it. More...

The Lobster

It's a relatively good week for limited releases with several that are earning excellent reviews. Of these, The Lobster is the one I think will do the best at the box office. Kill Zone 2, Love & Friendship, and some others are also earning excellent reviews, but are playing in VOD. More...
