DVD Releases for July 11, 2006

July 10th, 2006

This week is not as slow as last week. Then again, I don't think it would be possible for it to be as slow. However, it is still not a strong week in terms of quantity, but at least the quality is there. Contenders for DVD Pick of the Week include 30 Days - Season 1 and Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story - Buy from Amazon. But in the end I went with a double-shot of Masters of Horror - Joe Dante - Homecoming and Our Hero - The Complete Series - Buy Direct. More...

Thank You for Smoking was the only film to top the $10,000 per theatre average this weekend. It blew away the competition with just over $260,000 in 5 theatres for an average of $52,585. More...

Per Theatre Charts: Lone Bull

Despite a steep-for-a-limited-release drop-off of 33%, Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story was again able to top the Per Theatre Average charts. In fact, its average of $13,568 was nearly double its nearest competitor. More...

Shandy's Start's no Bull

January 31st, 2006

Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story topped the per theatre charts this week after earned more than $60,000 in just 3 theatres for an average of $20,295. The only other regular format film to crack the $10,000 market was Rang De Basanti with and average of $11,503 in 61 theatres, however, it is a niche market film and that usually means steep declines. Late updates have changed some of the results on in International Top Five this week as My Boss, My Student crushed the competition in South Korea with $7.59 million on 450 screens over the weekend and $9.31 million in total. This meant that despite Brokeback Mountain earning a better than initially reported $7.39 million, it was pushed out of the top five and into sixth place. More...

Limited Releases: Limited Window for Exhibitors

January 27th, 2006

Movie Website Updates for January 20 - January 26

January 26th, 2006

During the past week promotional websites for several movies were launched and some older ones added additional content. The winner this week was Curious George - Official Site, which was extremely well done, although it is aimed at a very young audience. More...

Movie Website Updates for January 6 - January 12

January 12th, 2006

During the past week promotional websites for several movies were launched and some older ones added additional content. I can't say that it was a particularly busy week, but at least we had a site that was well deserving of recognition in Nanny McPhee - Official Site. More...

Movie Website Updates for November 26 - December 8

December 8th, 2005

During the past week promotional websites for several movies were launched and some older ones added additional content. Despite being there being two weeks between updates, this was not a very strong week. Sure, there were plenty of websites updated, but not a lot that really stood out as being award worthy. In the end it was Clerks 2: The Passion of the Clerks - Official Site that was the best of the bunch and hopefully it will continue to grow and earn that award. More...
