Synopsis
This film was shot according to the Dogme95 rules, a number of rules that should bring movie making back to its basics. Dogme95 was introduced by a group of Danish directors. Besides the director of thios movie, Thomas Vinterberg, also Lars Von Trier is a member of the group. Festen shows us the celebration of the sixtiest birthday of the father of a family. What starts out as a big celebration turns into a tragedy when during the speech of one of the children some dark family secrets are unveiled.
