SpongeBob SquarePants: Extreme Kah-Rah-Tay - Buy from Amazon

The latest SpongeBob SquarePants DVD to hit the home market is Extreme Kah-Rah-Tay. I've reviewed so many of these DVDs that there's no point introducing them, so let's get right to the stories...

The Show

  1. Squid Defense
Squidward is accosted in a dark alley and asks SpongeBob to teach him Karate. SpongeBob is a really bad teacher, so they head to Sandy's place for more training. It turns out Squidward's an even worse student than SpongeBob was a teacher.
  2. The Way of the Sponge
Sandy's sensei, Fuzzy Acorns, comes to Bikini Bottom to test Sandy's karate skill. When SpongeBob shows up, he asks to be tested. He's so bad that not only does he not get a belt, but Fuzzy Acorns takes away Sandy's belt. Can SpongeBob get a second chance?
  3. House Sittin' for Sandy
It's SpongeBob's day off, but Sandy calls asking him to house sit for the day as she heads home to Texas. He's actually doing a good job... until Patrick comes by to help him.
  4. Krabby Patty That Ate Bikini Bottom
Mr. Krabs is trolling for spare change when he see's Sandy's giant soy bean, which is the result of a new growth formula. Sandy agrees to use a Krabby Patty in a test. She puts just one drop on the patty, but she has to go to the bathroom, Mr. Krabs uses the entire flask on the patty. You can probably guess the results.
  5. Extreme Spots
SpongeBob and Patrick are at the beach when they see The Drastic Radicals, a.k.a, The Dradicals, perform some of their extreme sports action. SpongeBob and Patrick want to join, but they have to prove they are radical enough.
  6. Squirrel Record
Sandy wants break as many records as she can, and she's getting SpongeBob to help her. After he messes up (he forgot to bring a camera) she tries to break the records by herself. Unfortunately, she goes a little overboard and become obsessed.
  7. Face Freeze
SpongeBob and Patrick are making silly faces when Mr. Krabs tells them the story of a man who liked to make silly faces, until one day when his face froze with his tongue sticking. The story scares the pair so much, that they try not to make any faces at all. Their resolve doesn't last.
  8. Demolition Doofus
SpongeBob goes to boating school, but he and Mrs. Puff (Mary Jo Catlett) get into a series of accidents and her inflation sac bursts leaving her unable to puff ever again. She conspires to come up with a plan to get rid of SpongeBob, forever, by getting him into the destruction derby.

The Extras

There are no extras on the DVD.

The Verdict

SpongeBob SquarePants: Extreme Kah-Rah-Tay gets off to a good start, as the first four shorts are funny, but there are also a couple weaker ones in the middle, but it ends on a high note. Overall, it is still good if you are a fan of the show.
