DVD Sales: April 7th, 2013: The Bible Leads the Way

New releases were nearly shut out of the April 7th, 2013 edition of the DVD sales chart. That said, the one and only new release to chart was The Bible: The Epic Miniseries, which earned first place with 436,000 units / $14.31 million. Lincoln was in a distant second place with 239,000 units / $4.75 million for the week, giving it 1.06 million units / $20.37 million after two. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey rose from fifth to third with 170,000 units / $2.26 million over the week. After three weeks of release, the film has sold 1.67 million units and generated $20.70 million in sales. Les Miserables was next with 127,000 units / $2.54 million over the week and 1.03 million units / $20.49 million after three. Parental Guidance climbed into the top five during its second week of release with 110,000 units / $2.01 million. Its running tally is now 449,000 units / $7.92 million after two weeks of release.
