Get Low Finishes High on the Per Theater Chart

August 3, 2010

Get Low opened in first place on the per theater chart with an impressive average of $22,046. I expect it will be able to expand significantly. Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child was down barely more than 1% and added $17,226, while still playing in just one theater. The final film to make the $10,000 club was The Concert with an average of $10,871 in two theaters.

There were a few more new limited releases, including The Extra Man which just missed the $10,000 mark with an average of $9,431 in two theaters. Smash His Camera was not as lucky, opening with $2,367 in one theater, while The Dry Land missed the Mendoza Line with an average of $1,470.

This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theater Chart alumni:

  • Winter's Bone topped $4 million over the weekend and $5 million isn't out of the question.
  • The Girl Who Played With Fire surpassed $5 million, including its run in Canada.
  • As expected, The Kids are All Right reached $5 million last Monday. Also, it made it to $10 million this Monday. By next Monday, it might be at $15 million, but that could be a little too bullish.
