iCarly: Season Two, Volume Two - Buy from Amazon

Thank you. After a trio of single-disc random releases, iCarly gets back to season sets, or at least split-season sets. I'll take what I can get. So what episodes are featured on the two-disc Season Two, Volume Two? How many are making their DVD debuts? And what kind of extras are we talking about? And is it enough to compensate for the double-dips?

The Show

Episodes start with...

  • iLook Alike
From iFight Shelby Marx. The review can be found here.
  • iWant My Website Back
After Spencer cancels his credit card, Carly and the others lose the rights to iCarly.com and it's bought out by none other their their arch-nemesis, Nevel Papperman. He demands a kiss from Carly in order to give the site back. Will Carly have to give into his demands, or will the gang figure out a way to trick him?
  • iMake Sam Girlier
It's Sam's birthday, and Carly and Freddie have set up a roast style party. However, when she realizes everyone, including the boy she has a crush on, thinks she's, well, less than lady like, she strives to be more girly. This quest is made more difficult when the school bully decides to pick on Sam and Carly.
  • iGo Nuclear
It's Green Week at school and the everyone has to make an environmentally friendly project for science class. Carly makes an electric scooter, Freddie makes a high tech composter, while Sam doesn't do anything and instead eats an orange in front of the class. Sam gets an A, but the other two fail. They need to make a new project and with the help of Cal, Carly's new neighbor, they make a nuclear reaction using real stolen plutonium.
  • iDate A Bad Boy
From iFight Shelby Marx. The review can be found here.
  • iReunite With Missy
Carly's old friend, Missy, moved to Seattle and is going to the same school as her. Carly's loving it, Sam soon falls victim to a number of misfortunes, including, but not limited to, Chocolate Poisoning. Sam thinks Missy is out to get her, but Carly thinks she's just jealous. Turns out being crazy paranoid pays off, and Sam's right, Missy is evil.
  • iTake on Dingo
After they learn a TV network is stealing their skits, Carly, Freddie, and Sam drive down to Hollywood to confront the writers. The TV network, Dingo, is a thinly veiled parody of Disney, which is ironic, considering Viacom's contentious relationship with YouTube.
  • iMust Have Locker 239
Sam and Freddie enter a contest to win the coveted locker number 239. But when they tie, they have to share it. This will not end well. Meanwhile, after Freddie and Sam make fun of Carly's drawing, she asks Spencer to teach her how to draw. Again, this will not end well.
  • iTwins
From iSaved Your Life. The review can be found here.
  • iFight Shelby Marx
From iFight Shelby Marx. The review can be found here.
  • iThink They Kissed
From iSaved Your Life. The review can be found here.
  • iCook
It's the episode that showed the world how to cook Spaghetti Tacos, which is possibly the single most famous things to come out of iCarly. That gets them on Food TV battling Robby Flame in a cook off. But when they beat him, he quits cooking, for good.

The Extras

Extras include a number of short behind-the-scenes featurettes, starting with Is That Me I See?, which is about the doppelgangers from iLook Alike. In Reed For 2 Minutes with Mandy, Alexander Reed, who plays Nevel Papperman, interviews Aria Wallace, who plays Mandy. The three main cast members give Locker Tours for two minutes. And finally, Doors To Nowhere is a set tour of the edges of the sets with all the doors, and hallways, that lead to nothing.

The Verdict

I'm a little surprised how many of these episodes were not on any of the previous DVDs. There are seven episodes making their DVD debut this week, and most of them are better than average for the show. Additionally, Season Two, Volume Two of iCarly is actually cheaper than a lot of single-disc releases and it is easily worth picking up for fans of the show.
