Movie Website Reviews for the Weekend of February 20th, 2009

February 22, 2009

Oscar weekend means fans of quality cinema have better things to do that go out and watch quality cinema. This means there's a shortage of top-notch movie releases. And this means there's a shortage of top-notch movie site. The best site on this week's list, Fired Up's Official Site, is just average.

Delhi 6 - Official Site
Bollywood releases tend to have strong sites for limited releases, and this one is no different. All the usual features are here, and there's an additional section for the soundtrack. There's also a section marked "Coming Soon", but they don't say what is coming soon.

Eleven Minutes - Official Site
More style than most documentary sites have, but considering the movie is about fashion, I was expecting more.

Fired Up - Official Site
All the usual features are here, as well as a few extras. These include video clips on the placeholder site (on the main site the clips are marked coming soon) while there is a game, but it is off site. There's enough sound and animation to not seem boring, but not enough to truly stand out.

Katyn - No Official Site
No official site, at least not for the North American release. The Polish site is still live.

Madea Goes to Jail - Official Site
Just the basics, and even then the bios are marked coming soon.

Must Read After My Death - Official Site
Typical documentary site with plenty of content, but no real sense of style.

Stone of Destiny - Official Site
Just the basics on the distributor's official site. It doesn't even has a site of its own.

The Velveteen Rabbit - Official Site
Most of the usual features are missing. They do have a trailer and that's about it. There is another video for the producer's guarantee and a reward program, but nothing of interest.
