DVD Rentals - Holdovers Hog the Top Five

While there were plenty of new releases that charted this week, the top five was nearly identical to last week. In fact, the top four were identical, which left Wild Hogs in first place with $7.81 million in rentals over the week and $17.75 million in total. Disturbia added $6.05 million to its three-week total of $23.32 million while Fracture earned $5.54 million for the week and $12.25 million in total. Vacancy had the best week-to-week drop-off in the top five down just 13% to $5.53 million giving it a two-week total of $11.90 million. The first new release was Perfect Stranger in fifth place with $5.33 million, which is inline with its disappointing theatrical run.

Five more new releases charted this week spread out from 14th place to 25th with The Ex leading this pack with $2.71 million in rentals. Redline placed 16th with $2.07 million in rentals, which combined with its sales figures leaves it about halfway to catching its theatrical run. The Ultimate Gift placed 19th with $1.81 million in rentals while The Lives of Others placed 22nd with $1.66 million. The final new release to chart was Broken English, which placed 25th with $1.19 million compared to the $946,000 it managed to earn theatrically.
