Per Theatre Charts - Making a Play

June 20, 2006

Wordplay not only topped the Per Theatre Charts with and average of $16,424, it was also the only film to crack $10,000 this week. However, the re-release of Pandora's Box came awfully close with $9,950 in its lone theatre.

Other new limited releases this week varied in their performance from Lower City's $8,199 in its lone theatre, which is a good result. The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green earned an average of $5,501 in two theatres, Only Human at $4,795 also in two theatres, and Beowulf and Grendel brought in $4,360 in one theatre were all merely average results. Things were not as rosy for Loverboy with $3,321 or Fall to Grace with $2,214 while Uncut bombed at just $390 in one theatre.

There was only the one milestone as An Inconvenient Truth reached the $5 million mark early in the weekend. Its expansion into non-top ten markets didn't go as well as many had hoped, but it should still make it to $10 million before long.
