Mysterious Beginnings

May 10th, 2005

Mysterious Skin opened with $17,425 in its lone theater to lead the Per Theater Charts this weekend. The only other film to make it into the $10,000 club was last week's winner, Holy Girl which added $21,069 in 2 theaters for a $10,535 average.

This past week also saw some milestones reached for several Per Theater Chart alumnus:

  • Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room made it to $1 million over the weekend, and should have the best run for a documentary this year.
  • Off the Map may have peaked at the box office but it still managed to cross $1 million early in the midweek.
  • Downfall made it all the way to $5 million over the weekend, an excellent result for a foreign language film.
  • As expected Millions made it all the way to $5 million and while it has peaked at the box office it still has plenty left in it.
