Weekend Theater Counts

July 21st, 2005

Boosted by a better-than-expected opening, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory adds an extra 20 theaters this weekend, to play in a very healthy 3,790. The Bad News Bears and The Island both debut in around 3,150 locations, possibly enough to make either one of them box office champion if Charlie falters. The Island starts favorite.
