R.I.P. Conrad Hall

Oscar-winning cinematographer Conrad L. Hall died from cancer of the bladder at a Santa Monica hospital Saturday, January 4. Hall was the man behind the scenes for such critically acclaimed films as American Beauty, Marathon Man, Butch Cassidey and the Sundance Kid, and several episodes of the original Outer Limits TV series. His last movie was the Tom Hanks mob drama, Road to Perdition.

Hall's resume also includes Cool Hand Luke, A Civil Action, and the little-seen cult favorite Incubus, which stars William Shatner and was released in 1965. Hall was 76.
