Cronenberg's "Spider" release a mystery

January 9th, 2003

David Cronenberg's new film, Spider, hit theaters in select cities on December 20, but fans of the horror director (known for Rabid and The Brood) may have to wait a little longer to see his new breed of psycho-terror. Spider, which stars Ralph Fiennes, Gabriel Byrne, and Miranda Richardson (The Hours), and centers on the activities within a mental hospital, does not have an exact date for a wide release in the States. The film has opened in several countries, including the UK, on January 3, and has appeared at various film festivals throughout 2002. At one point, Spider was set to open on February 28, but according to the IMDb, there has been no further information.
