The 2003 Sundance Film Festival

January 16th, 2003

Today, January 16, marks the beginning of the 2003 Sundance Film Festival and the line-up of films to be presented is as wide in range and plentiful as always. Among the movies to be shown are A Foreign Affair, with David Arquette and Tim Blake Nelson, Matt Dillon's directorial debut, City of Ghosts, the Jason Priestley comedy, Die Mommie Die, and the international hit soccer comedy, Bend it Like Beckham.

Also to be spotlighted are the British horror flick, 28 Days Later, Eddie Griffin's stand-up act, DysFunktional Family, Bollywood Queen, White of Winter, and the Japanese films Woman of Water and The Thirteen Steps, a Hitchcockian murder mystery not to be confused with The 39 Steps. Neil LaBute's The Shape of Things, with Rachel Weisz, will also be shown, hopefully making us forget about the turgid Possession.

There will also be a supply of short films at the festival. For more information on Sundance and the film listings, please go to www.sundance.org. The festival will be going on until Sunday, January 26.
