"Kill Bill" misses Cannes deadline

January 26th, 2003

Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill has gone soar. According to several sources, the $39 million action/thriller, starring Uma Thurman as an assassin getting revenge for her messy wedding day, will miss its Cannes Film Festival debut in May because of overextended shoots and editing. The film has also gone $11 mill over-budget.

Irony seems to be hitting its ugly head as Tarantino's career went full-throttle after the premiere of Pulp Fiction at Cannes in 1994. Kill Bill is scheduled to open on October 10.
