Rider Has Whale of an Opening

Whale Rider opening this weekend to top spot on the Per Theatre Average. The small film from New Zealand earned an impressive $137,418 in just 9 theatres for an average of $15,268. Three other movies were just behind including last week’s winner Capturing the Friedmans at $13,984.
