Ultimatum Alone on Top of the Per Theater Chart
The Bourne Ultimatum was the only film to top $10,000 on the per theater chart this week, earning an impressive $18,930, which was close to double its nearest competition. But, while there was only one member of the $10,000 club, a few films came very close, including Becoming Jane with $9,721, which is even more impressive with a theater count of 100. It is also more than enough to guarantee expansion.
This Is England was next with $9,500 while Blame it on Fidel with $9,004, (this was a little lower than earlier estimates, but still strong). The Willow Tree earned $6,048 in its lone theater to put it ahead of both The Ten and Gandhi, My Father with $4,855 and $4,590 respectively. If I Didn't Care was also close behind with $4,264 while Summer '04 earned a reasonable average of $3,856 over the weekend and $5,302 since Wednesday.
This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theater Chart alumni:
- Sunshine hit $2 million on Wednesday and should hit $3 million by this time next week.
- Talk to Me also reached $2 million during the week and will top $3 million shortly.
- As expected, Rescue Dawn made it to $3 million before the weekend and $4 million during the weekend. It will have little trouble making it to $5 million, but that will be the last major milestone for the film.
